Slum area in Barisal, Bangladesh; May 14, 2013; Children are happily playing in the water in front of stilt houses located in a slum area in Barisal, Bangladesh. It's heartwarming to see them enjoying themselves despite the harsh living conditions. Unfortunately, these slums suffer from a lack of basic infrastructure and services, such as proper sanitation and healthcare. The residents of these areas are constantly threatened by eviction, leaving them with no choice but to live in substandard dwellings.
