Ouadane, Mauritania; February 5, 2023; The boy served as our local guide in the ancient city of Ouadane, Mauritania. Although his English was limited, he was eager to share valuable information about the old city. It is likely that he learned the language on his own, possibly from movies or TV. Despite the language barrier, he was kind and accommodating. The photo somehow reminded me of a beautiful poem by Emily Dickinson.
