Byala Reka Meanders, Eastern Rhodope Mountains, Bulgaria; August 13, 2020; The meanders of Byala Reka is a protected area, declared to protect rare and endangered species of animals and plants, as well as a characteristic landscape. It covers part of the valley of the White River, characterized by exceptional beauty and biodiversity. Along the river banks are preserved some of the few forests in Bulgaria from the Eastern plane tree (Platanus orientalis) included in the Red Book.
