Abbasi Mosque, Cholistan Desert, Pakistan; 30 November 2019; Abbasi Mosque is located adjacent to the historical Derawar Fort and was built by the Nawab of Bahawalpur in 1844. The Mosque has one large hall and a big courtyard. It can accommodate up to 1000 people. Like Derawar Fort, the minarets of Abbasi Mosque are visible from a long distance while traveling through Cholistan Desert.
Derawar Fort, Cholistan desert, Pakistan; 30 November 2019; Derawar Fort is historically significant fort and presents an enormous and impressive structure in the heart of the Cholistan desert. It is rapidly deteriorating and in need of immediate preventive measures for preservation. It is a large square fortress in Ahmadpur East Tehsil, Punjab, Pakistan. The walls have a perimeter of 1500 metres and stand up to thirty metres high.
